New “Attendance For Daybeta” for Secondary Instructors
10/22/25
We’ve received feedback from secondary instructors that they’d like a summary of today’s attendance. Specifically they want to know which sections have attendance entered, and which ones are missing it. This is helpful in fast-paced high-energy secondary classrooms, where it’s easy for instructors to lose track of attendance.
So we created the Attendance for Daybeta page. It lists an instructor’s classes with checkmarks when attendance has been entered. It’s easy to see which sections are missing attendance.

Instructors launch entry pages through “hover buttons” (hover the mouse over a row, and buttons appear). The current period is highlighted for easy identification.

For secondary instructors, attendance entry is repetitive. This makes them “click conscious” and we designed the page to minimize clicks and loading time. We launch the existing attendance entry page in a “stack window” that slides over the table (we didn’t update the entry page). This reduces back-and-forth navigation, speeding up the process.

We added Attendance for Daybeta to the menu, just above the original link, now renamed Attendance (classic). Click it to launch the new page.

If instructors leave Attendance for Daybeta open, the entry page will automatically launch when a new period starts. This will help reduce the “clickiness” of Attendance. Additionally, when users first navigate to the page, attendance entry will automatically open if there's an active current period.
This new software is in “beta,” which means that it’s new and not yet fully complete. We’d encourage customers to try it and provide feedback. Even with its relative immaturity, we hope it provides a better user experience than the existing “classic” page – especially for secondary instructors. If you don’t like the new beta pages, the old pages still exist and are nearly unchanged.
As part of the release we created a short video to help instructors familiarize themselves with the new workflow:

We hope you like the changes. Feel free to provide feedback, so we can continue to improve the product.
