November 2010 Product Release

Elmhurst, IL (November 12, 2010) - Common Goal Systems (, a leading developer of web-based software for schools, announces several major software enhancements to its student management system, SchoolInsight. "These updates are designed to improve user experience and help schools better manage student data," says Pat Helmers, Vice President of Sales for the company. The new functionality includes:

Custom Reports Improvement
Big improvements to custom reports feature. We now support graphing for all summary reports. Users can also report on both discipline and student demographic information simultaneously. New features help users to visibility spot trends and proactively take action.

Improved Discipline Reporting
Discipline data can now by broken-down by demographic categories and show results graphically. New - custom incident types can be mapped to state reportable codes - allows better granularity into these incidents for internal actions. Several new discipline reports based upon customer requests. Save time by customizing and saving discipline reports in custom reporting.

Improved Navigation for Multi-school districts
Faster access for changing schools. Users with accounts at multiple schools in a district can now see current school they're logged in at and can switch schools easily.

Autodialer report
Built-in support for autodialer file generation. Easier for users to generate export file for common autodialers (AlertNow, SchoolMessenger, SchoolReach).

Custom control of Auto Logout
District or user settable auto logout option from 10 minutes to 8 hours (it was previously fixed at 65 min). The time is calculated as client idle time. This should prevent user frustration occurring from logout during long tasks (entering report card grades or sending a complex email).

Student photos available in more places
More places to see student's photos: lunch scanning, health records, and seating charts. Easier for people who don't know students to match a face to a name (substitutes, lunch staff, nurses).
