  • State and District Standards
Curriculum can be aligned to state standards, district standards, or both. State standards are pre-loaded for all 50 states. Districts can create their own standards too.

  • Flexible Curriculum Mapping Model
TeacherEase supports two distinct approaches to curriculum mapping: teachers each write their own curriculum maps (in the Heidi Hayes-Jacobs style) or the district defines "official" curriculum maps for teachers to use.
    • Teachers Write Own Curriculum Maps
For districts that follow the Heidi Hayes-Jacobs approach to curriculum mapping, teachers document what they actually teach in the classroom. Teachers document the essential questions, skills, vocabulary, assessments, and lessons in their personal curriculum maps. Teachers review each others' curriculum maps to find gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for cross-curricular integration.

    • Districts Create and Distribute "Official" Curriculum Maps
Districts define an "official" curriculum map for each course. Specify the units/topics to be taught and the timeline to deliver these lessons. Easily distribute the maps to teachers to aid in planning/organization. Great resource for new teachers. Teachers just use the district maps, and don't create their own. Continuously refine your curriculum maps to contantly improve instruction.

  • Review Curriculum Maps
Teachers can review curriculum maps in other grades/subjects to identify gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for cross-curricular integration. Search the "official" district curricula or other teachers' individual maps. Use this information to spark a review process and constantly improve the curricula.

  • Coverage Reporting
Run reports to assess standards coverage by the curricula (state standards, district standards, or both). Identify poorly covered standards that need reinforcement. Don't be surprised by standardized testing results.
