Part-Time Technical Writer

DESCRIPTION:
Common Goal Systems is a small software/Internet company in the Lisle area that provides a hosted web-based gradebook and student information system to the K-12 education market (see www.teacherease.com for more details). We’re currently seeking a part-time college student to perform miscellaneous technical writing duties.

DETAILS:
We’re looking for a student to perform various technical writing tasks. The student is expected to have strong writing skills, ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear concise manner, strong computer knowledge, strong understanding of the Internet and web-surfing, and a willingness to learn new things. Tasks may include:

• Writing Product Documentation
• Writing Help Pages
• Writing Marketing Literature

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL:

• Be enrolled in 4 year college/university degree program, preferably
  • a technically-oriented person in a writing/communication degree program, or
  • a persons with good oral/written communication skills in a technical degree program
• High level of integrity and character
• High level of energy and motivation
• Desire to work in a software/Internet company
• Experience with HTML

LOCATION: Lisle, IL

COMPENSATION: $12/hr, 5-20 hrs/week
