TeacherEase

Study

In May 2003 we studied a middle school that used TeacherEase for the school year. We asked the question, "Did access to TeacherEase improve student performance?" We found significant advancement in both grades and completed homework.

Before Accessing TeacherEase
To create a baseline, we analyzed student grades and the number of missed assignments before their parents accessed TeacherEase. We also measured a baseline before students accessed TeacherEase.

After Accessing TeacherEase
We then compared this baseline data with the grades and missed assignments after parents or students access TeacherEase.

  • Once parents access TeacherEase, average scores improve 8%
  • Once parents access TeacherEase, missed assignments drops by 41%
  • Once students access TeacherEase, average scores improved 5%
  • Once students access TeacherEase, missed homework dropped 40%

Results
Access to TeacherEase raised student grades by nearly a full grade level and drops missed assignments by 40%. From anecdotal experience, we believe that this improved performance is due students working harder. Some students are self-motivated. They see their current grades and strive for the next grade level -- almost like a competitive game. Others are motivated by their parents. In either case, this dramatic difference is from student better utilizing their natural talents. Click here to view the raw data.
